Meet The Maker
Hi! I’m Emma-Lee and I am the creative nutter that designs and hand-colours each and every one of your Milk Thieves goodies!
I live in the beautiful Jervis Bay area of the South Coast of NSW with my budgie Freddie and too many (is there such a thing?) indoor plants. I studied Graphic Design and Visual Art at the University of Wollongong and worked as a freelance designer and artist for a few years before deciding to turn my studio space into a shop!
The Milk Thieves brand began as a little shop in Wollongong that sold all sorts of awesome handmade and Australian designed products. A few years into shop life, I started designing my own small range of studs and brooches – and just never stopped! In fact, some of those first designs are still my most popular products today!
My creativity spills over to many areas of my life. I love to cook, bake, craft, do Polaroid photography and create community events. I also currently work part-time at the Jervis Bay Maritime Museum, which is awesome!
I love the process of making my products. It takes a special kind of weirdo to sit and hand colour and glue thousands of tiny studs. It is all worth it when you guys see my pieces and laugh or go wide-eyed in awe when I tell you I personally made them all. x
